Course description: The PSA Advanced Nitrox Course introduces the use of enriched air (Nitrox) mixes for extending bottom times, and Rich Nitrox Mixes (up to 100%) as decompression gas. This course covers dive planning i.e. gas requirements, oxygen limitations and nitrogen limitations, dive physics and physiology. Also the dedicated equipment needed for mixes over 40% and common mixing procedures for dives up to 130fsw/40msw. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with other PSA courses i.e. Decompression Procedures.
Course Format: Three-day course 6hrs classroom and practical 4 open water dives
Course content: History of Enriched Air Diving Physiological Principles of Enriched Air Diving Advanced Dive Planning Methods of Generating Nitrox Using Nitrox
Minimum Entry level: PSA Nitrox Diver, or Equivalent with 50 logged dives, Deep Diver Training with 10 additional dives logged between 27m-40m
Open Water DIves: 4 Advanced Nitrox dives are required with a student to instructor ratio of 3:1 The PSA Decompression Procedures course may be combined with this course at a price of £400.
