On mooring in Tobermory Harbour
This vessel was built in 1963 at Skudenshavn, Norway, to Det Norsk Veritas +1 A1-N-ICE-C standards and is 22.85m in length. Launched as Bergen Kreds she was RS (Rescue Vessel) 68. Bergen Kreds was built as a liveaboard ocean-going towing and fleet support vessel for the Norwegian fishing fleet she worked as a rescue vessel for NSSR .
Elizabeth G has three twin berth cabins (one with an extra 3rd bunk) plus one four-berth cabin for up to 10 guests. All are centrally heated with storage, a seat and sink in each. Cabins have non-opening portholes and the vessel is carpeted throughout. The main saloon and dining area is on deck level with a smaller second seating area below decks adjacent to the galley. There is currently one shower and one toilet aboard the vessel although this winter there is going to be a small extension adding another toilet and shower room and new compressors and blending faclities, plus the usual annual re-paint and winter re-fit.
